Symbols

K means Kraken.

* means bump / knock.

+ indicates placement.

X means close.

XX means that the second close of the game has been executed.

XXX means that a third close has been executed OR the kraken has been closed on.

! means very good move.

!! means brilliant move.

? means questionable move.

?? means blunder.

 

Note: White's first play is annotated as '0.' for all even-numbered games and as '2.' for all odd-numbered games. 

Examples

+a2 means a ship has been placed on a2. 

e1-3X means a move from e1 to e3 (smallest ring to the largest ring) resulting in X (close).

Xf3 means a closed ship on f3 was withdrawn.

e1-3XX (here XX means that the second close of the game has just been executed).

d1*b-aXXX (the ship on d1 knocks the b1 ship to a1 and a close has just been executed which has brought the game to an end).

d3*K-a XXX (the ship on d3 knocks the kraken to a3 which has brought the game to an end).
